Two Sweet & Simple Party Favors

I have been working on some new ideas for party favors – I love coming home from an event with something sweet. I know how popular candy buffets are now, but if you have a party coming up and you don’t want to commit to buying 50 pounds of candy and big glass containers, here are some cute ideas with sources for something your guests will definitely enjoy!

Striped Jelly Bean Tubes

I chose a 1.75″ x 4″ round plastic tube container for this one, but you can find many other sizes here if you want something larger or smaller. I layered Strawberry Daiquiri and Coconut jelly beans to make the stripes, counting even numbers of each color to make the stripes consistent. For this size container, there are about 28 jelly beans in each layer. You can purchase jelly beans by color here, and there are enough colors to match any party theme. I sealed the tube with a strip of washi tape, which I bought from In the Clear, one of my favorite etsy shops. Finally, I created a logo and printed out a sheet of 1.5″ round labels to decorate the tubes. I love OnlineLabels.com for favor labels, since they have a giant selection of sizes and paper types.

Square Gumball Boxes

For this favor, I used my absolute favorite kind of box – a 2″ x 2″ x 2″ square clear plastic tuck-top from Paper Mart. 8 big round gumballs fit perfectly in this size, and you can buy gumballs in a variety of colors and flavors here. I used black & white twill ribbon from Paper Source, but you could add any color or kind of ribbon you like. I sealed the top with a monogram label that I created using 1.5″ round labels from OnlineLabels.com.

New Programs in the Shop

I just finished up some awesome new programs for a wedding this weekend and I’m so excited about how they turned out.The programs are printed on a long narrow piece of card stock, and folded into a cute little booklet.I love how these programs can hold a ton of information for a big bridal party, a full church service, a lovely thank you note from the bride and groom, and a memorial page, but still fold up small enough to fit into a small clutch or suit pocket.

If you’re getting married soon and want these for your own wedding, the programs are now available in my etsy shop – here is a link!

New Invitations in the Shop!

I have been working on several new invitation designs in the past few weeks for lots of different parties and weddings. One of my favorites is this pink champagne invite that I originally created for a wedding shower, and also used for a birthday party.

The invitations are now available in my etsy shop, in either shimmer or glossy paper.

Mr. & Mrs. Glitter Letters on Etsy

At the end of last year, I did some custom glitter letters for an etsy customer’s wedding. Her colors were purple and silver, so the letters are mostly silver with a little bit of purple thrown in.I just added the letters to my etsy shop. It’s so great to be able to contribute to important days in people’s lives with decorations, invitations and desserts!

Busy Weekend!

This weekend was crazy. I started off by making 250 basketball cookies for a party.I may have kept one or two for myself, and they were very tasty.

Once the cookies were packed and delivered, Anthony and I went to a really fun wedding. There was an old Hollywood movie theme, and I worked with the bride on the escort cards. She asked for movie tickets, and I think they came out really great. They looked really cute standing up in popcorn!

Then on Sunday, I picked up some awesome new fabric that I can’t wait to start working with.

Welcome Boxes

One of my best friends got married this weekend, and I was so happy to be able to help her out with some of the details. My favorite part was the welcome boxes that we put together to greet the out-of-town guests when they checked into the hotel. The colors for the wedding were gold, ivory, and brown, so we picked these beautiful gold boxes to hold all of the treats. The bride and groom love sweets, so we filled the boxes with some of their favorite candy.I like to use clear boxes and bags with custom labels for each of the treats inside, so that the little packages match the big ones. It’s also cheaper to buy the treats in bulk and then re-package them instead of buying pre-packaged single serving sizes. The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time dancing at the reception. I even kept my heels on all night! They’re usually off by the end of the cocktail hour because I can’t stand it when my feet hurt.It was a great weekend!

I had a really busy (and super fun) week!

My friend Maury got married yesterday in Scranton (where I grew up) and it was an amazing wedding.
I helped with some of the paper stuff (menus, programs, placecards) and the out of town boxes. Here’s what we did for the guests:

I made the peppermint patties and blueberry muffins, and assembled all the individual pieces.
Then we got together a few days before the wedding to put together 75 boxes for all of the people coming in from out of town. They were great and everyone was really excited to get them when they checked into the hotel.

The reception was directly after the ceremony, so I made programs that folded up small enough so they could fit in suit pockets or evening bags. The program was 17″ wide by 5.5″ tall flat, and 5.5″ x 4.25 folded.

For the place cards, I lined bulletin boards with fabric that was printed with drawings of buildings from Scranton and used map pins to attach the cards to the boards. Here’s one of the boards in-action:

I also made the menus, which were folded into the napkins at each place setting:

The bride looked amazing and Anthony got some really great shots of the happy couple and the amazing venue – The Scranton Cultural Center.

I picked a FANTASTIC dress from Rent the Runway and couldn’t have been happier with the whole process. I got lots of compliments on the dress and it was so much fun to wear something new and different. I picked the short sequined one:
